My struggles with Perfectionism in my art

Recently I have been reflecting on my own artistic path, I felt compelled to share a personal story with you—something that might resonate deeply with your own experiences.

For years, I grappled with doubts and insecurities about my drawing abilities. Back in 2018, when I first picked up a pencil with eager anticipation, I was filled with enthusiasm and determination. However, as I delved into the world of drawing, I found myself confronted with a myriad of challenges. Despite my best efforts, my drawings often fell short of my expectations, leaving me feeling frustrated and disheartened. my struggles with Perfectionism were holding me back!

my struggles with Perfectionism

Like many aspiring artists, I fell into the common trap of comparison, constantly measuring my work against that of others. I tried to replicate their styles, hoping to achieve similar levels of success. But the more I chased after perfection, the further I strayed from my own unique artistic voice.

It wasn't until I embraced my individual perspective and let go of the need for perfection that I began to experience a breakthrough in my artistic journey. I discovered the power of experimentation and the freedom that comes with expressing oneself authentically. Through trial and error, I learned to trust my instincts and cultivate a deeper connection with my creativity.

Perhaps you've encountered similar obstacles on your own creative path. Maybe you've been told that drawing isn't your forte or that it's a skill reserved for the naturally talented. Or perhaps you've struggled to find the time and motivation to nurture your passion amidst the demands of daily life.

But here's the truth: drawing is not just about talent or time—it's about mindset and approach. It's about embracing the journey of self-discovery and finding joy in the process of creation.
