Do I need to be good at drawing to join?
Each of the lessons in this course comes with a sketch template that you can follow if you are new to drawing. Some of the tutorials are super easy and some are a little more complicated. However, My main goal is to give you the tools to start drawing and painting yourself. Plus this style is perfect if for a more loose (maybe wonky) style.
What are we making?
In this course you will learn how to paint in Ink (line) and Watercolour (wash).

It is a quick and loose style that is perfect for outdoor observational art, for loose illustrations and for sketchbook work.
Why do I love Line & Wash so much?
In Line & wash we combine waterproof ink with watercolour paint and when I first started to use this technique it blew my mind! The fact that I could make a drawing and then paint over it was just amazing.

Back then I was pretty good at drawing but I used to find painting really hard still. This way I could make myself a 'colouring in' make a drawing first and then paint over it. Nowadays I often paint outside the lines and I enjoy that freedom a lot too!
What Materials Do I need?Â

For this course I would recommend the following materials:

a HB sketch pencil, eraser and sharpener
a waterproof ink pen, fine liner or brushpen
Watercolour brushes, a container for water, cloth and a palette.Â
Water based paint; watercolour paint or gouache
Watercolour paper or a sketchbook suitable for watercolours

It is very important that the ink for the line part of each artwork is waterproof!Â
