About the Event
Loose Watercolour Animal Portraits
Join me on Monday nights in March at Together Culture in Cambridge for a relaxing and beginner-friendly watercolour class! We’ll be painting beautiful, loose animal portraits, focusing on playful techniques rather than perfect sketches.
In this class, I’ll guide you step-by-step through the basics of watercolour painting. We’ll explore how to layer paints, the difference between wet-in-wet and wet-in-dry techniques, how to judge the right amount of water, and how different brushes create different textures. You’ll also learn how to create wonderful, splashy effects and textured layers that bring your portraits to life.
To keep things simple, I’ll provide two light boxes to help you quickly sketch out your animal before diving into the fun part—painting! Each session will include warm-ups and plenty of time to experiment and create your masterpiece in a freeing and relaxed atmosphere.
